Questions About Jars

Regular Wall: Straight-sided wide-mouth jars from 1/8 oz to 32 oz. Most economical.
Double Wall: Jar within a jar design for thick appearance at lower cost. Used for lotions and creams.
Thick Wall: Single-piece molded jars with heavy wall construction for cosmetic and personal care.

CPS (Clear Polystyrene): Crystal clear, glass-like appearance.
NPPC (Clarified Polypropylene): Transparent with slight haze. Food safe.
NPP (Natural Polypropylene): Milky translucent. Economical.
WPP (White Polypropylene): Opaque white version of polypropylene.
SAN: Clear with higher chemical resistance than CPS.
PET: Excellent clarity and chemical resistance. Higher cost.
HDPE/LDPE: Best chemical resistance, cannot be clear.

Jar sizes are identified by ounces (volume capacity) and millimeters (diameter of the jar opening). Millimeter size determines the cap size.

Questions About Lids and Closures

Lined Caps: Contain a circular liner inside the cap.
Unlined Caps: Do not contain a liner.
Ribbed Caps: Flat top with ribbed sides.
Smooth Caps: Flat top with smooth sides.
Dome Caps: Curved top design.

Closures are primarily made from Polypropylene resin.

PE Foam (F-217): Non-adhesive liner that stays in cap.
Pressure Sensitive: Adhesive liner for tamper evidence.
Foil Heat Seal: Requires induction machine for strong seal.

Any cap can be used with any jar if the diameter matches. Common pairings depend on jar type and industry use.
